The project aims to bring together teachers, university lecturers, students and specialist colleagues in a structured, collaborative framework in order to jointly develop innovative approaches for the use of artificial intelligence in German as a foreign language/ German as a second language teaching. The focus is on networking, peer-to-peer exchange and the practical testing of new ideas and tools in their own teaching practice.
The centrepiece of the project is the continuous work in fixed small groups (communities of practice), which work together over the course of a year on a topic of their choice in the area of conflict between AI and language learning. This involves going through a structured process that includes both analogue and digital formats: a joint kick-off in person, regular online live meetings with impulses and exchange, asynchronous collaboration via Moodle and a final face-to-face event.
In terms of sustainable skills development, the focus is not purely on knowledge transfer, but on collective learning, the development of small practical projects and critical reflection on the use of AI in German as a foreign language/German as a second language lessons. The project promotes both professional and didactic innovation as well as a new culture of cooperation - based on openness, trust and curiosity.
