By Michael Koch, 2016, Germany/Switzerland, 101 min.
With: Margarita Breitkreuz, Georg Friedrich, Olga Dinnikova, Sahin Eryilmaz.
In German with French subtitles.

Marija, a young Ukrainian woman, earns her living as a hotel maid in Dortmund, but dreams of owning her own hair salon. When she is fired without notice, she finds herself forced to look at other means to earn money, putting her body, social relationships and own feelings aside to reach those goals.

“Koch's assured, no-nonsense debut paints a universally relevant portrait of disenfranchised immigrant life. (…), shedding generous light on a still-underexposed world of overlapping immigrant factions in Germany’s urban fringes, where Eastern Europeans, Turks and other groups form a warily co-dependent social hierarchy of their own. – Variety
