Late Summer Cinema in the Goethe-Institut Garden

The Goethe-Institut celebrates Award-winning German director Caroline Link with a film series.

On four consecutive days, the Goethe-Institut Cyprus will present films by one of Germany's most renowned and popular directors in the Goethe-Institut garden.

Caroline Link achieved her first great success in 2003 with the film Nowhere in Africa (Nirgendwo in Afrika), for which she won the Oscar for Foreign Language Film. In addition to many other film awards and festival appearances, she was also awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. In most of her films she not only directed, but also wrote the script, as in Beyond Silence (Jenseits der Stille), Exit Marrakesh and Nowhere in Africa (Nirgendwo in Afrika). For A year ago in winter (Im Winter ein Jahr) and the well-known children's film Pünktchen und Anton she adapted the well-known originals by Scott Campbell and Erich Kästner. Each film is touching in a special way and has impressed viewers for years.
