The mission of the Centre Culturel Français Freiburg (CCFF) is to communicate and promote French language and culture in Germany. It cooperates with many other institutions and facilities in Freiburg and the surrounding area. The main goal and function of the Centre Culturel is to foster the German-French dialog in all areas in relation to language, culture and politics. Alongside the Goethe-Institut Freiburg, the CCFF is a member of the Freiburg General Education Network, and thus cooperates with the Goethe-Institut on various levels.

Freiburg has a long tradition as a center of research and learning and has an excellent educational infrastructure. The LEIF initiative provides a clear overview of existing educational opportunities, helps to network the providers in this area and to coordinate their offerings. This makes it easier for children, teens and adults to learn about and utilise educational opportunities in Freiburg. Alongside the Goethe-Institut Freiburg, the LEIF initiative is a member of the Freiburg General Education Network, and thus cooperates with the Goethe-Institut on various levels.

The Volkshochschule is a modern public education institution with a long tradition behind it. It offers a very extensive, customer-oriented program including general-interest, political and cultural courses as well as occupational training, programs to obtain school certificates, and parental and family education programs. With a high-quality, needs-based educational program at affordable prices, the Volkshochschule guarantees achievement of the public-policy goal of making continuing education available to everyone. Alongside the Goethe-Institut Freiburg, the Volshochschule is a member of the Freiburg General Education Network, and thus cooperates with the Goethe-Institut on various levels.

The German-American Institute was founded in 1952 as Amerika-Haus, and since the 1960s has functioned as a binnational cultural center that organizes some 250 events per year related to topics of current interest. All those interested in the USA and cultural issues are invited to attend lectures, workshops, readings and discussions with German and American experts. Alongside the Goethe-Institut Freiburg, the German-American Institute (Carl-Schurz-Haus) is a member of the Freiburg General Education Network, and thus cooperates with the Goethe-Institut on various levels.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Freiburg was founded in 2009. Its objective is to intensify cooperation between China and Germany in the areas of education, culture, business and the sciences, support and promote the development of Chinese-language education, and improve mutual understanding between the people of China and Germany. For all those interested in the country, people and language, whether for personal interest or business reasons, the Confucius Institute offers numerous courses, presentations, workshops and readings all year round. As a result, it sometimes cooperates on various levels with the Goethe-Institut.
