The Finnish multidisciplinary artist Tuukka Haapakorpi will be an artist-in-residence at the Baumwollspinnerei in Leipzig from February to April 2019.

Haapakorpi graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts with a Master of Fine Arts. He works primarily with visual art, video, sound, music, and since recently video-game design. Generally speaking over the last few years he has occupied himself on an intensive basis with digital technology.

Haapakorpi’s works and performance pieces have formed components of various exhibitions, biennials, and festivals. While the majority of these appearences have been in Finland, his work has also featured in Sweden, Norway, Germany, England, Switzerland and Iraq.

Nordic Leipzig

In collaboration with the Leipzig International Art Programme (LIA) the Goethe-Institut offers a three-month long residency at the Art and Culture Centre Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei to Nordic artists.
