Project Description

Creative Compass Georgia Goethe-Institut Georgien

Creative Compass Georgia (CCG) is a four year EU-funded project which is implemented and co-funded by Goethe-Institut Georgien. Creative Compass empowers sustainable growth and employment within cultural and creative industries (CCI) across Georgia with the focus on industrial and post-industrial municipalities outside of Tbilisi. The main goal of the project is to support development of CCIs in the regions of Georgia, that will be achieved  through diverse funding opportunities, capacity building, creative space development, networking, and knowledge exchange.

What is Creative Compass Georgia?

Creative Compass strengthens cultural and creative industries across Georgia’s regions (outside Tbilisi), fostering vibrant cultural life and supporting local economic growth. The project focuses on empowering creative communities and enhancing their visibility and impact within their local environments.

Through diverse support and collaboration formats, creatives are encouraged to identify and activate their unique resources — such as cultural and industrial spaces, local creative businesses, and human talent.

The initiative expands professional networks and learning opportunities, enhances mobility, and builds essential skills. By doing so, Creative Compass helps creative actors connect, grow, and, thereby, contribute to the cultural and social development of their regions.

First phase: Assessment and Identification

During its first phase, Creative Compass informed relevant stakeholders about its intentions as well as laying the groundwork for its future activities.

Second phase

The second phase emphasizes the continued establishment of local platforms by supporting the implementation of their plans, creating capacity building and networking opportunities, or by providing seed funding to creative businesses.

Third phase

The third phases focusses on drawing lessons learnt and on ensuring the sustainability of the different initiatives supported.
