We are looking for a PODCAST PRODUCER/MODERATOR

The Goethe-Institut Ghana and Goethe-Institut Nigeria is looking for an experienced Podcast Production Team / Podcast Producers to develop and deliver a new podcast series. The series will consist of a minimum of six episodes, each approximately 45–60 minutes in length.

 

ABOUT THE PODCAST
“The Dreaming New World Podcast” is an audio series exploring Artificial Intelligence in Art and Culture in Africa. The podcast will examine how AI is being applied and used in creative fields, its influence, opportunities, challenges, and emerging trends.

The format will be a conversational audio series featuring at least one guest per episode, drawn from selected African countries. The host must be an English-speaking moderator, and the selection of topics and guests will be made in close collaboration with the Goethe-Institut.

The podcast will focus on:
  • AI trends in relation to arts and culture in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Country- and region-specific discourses on opportunities, challenges and engagement with AI
  • Ethical, moral, and societal implications of AI in the creative sector and society at large
  • Target audience: The general public, artists, cultural practitioners, and creative professionals in Africa and Europe.

Responsibilities of the Podcast Producer / Moderator:
  • Further develop the podcast concept in collaboration with The Goethe-Institut 
  • Recommend speakers
  • Outline episode scripts and prepare interview questions
  • Conduct background research for each episode
  • Host and manage recording sessions (primarily virtual)
  • Edit recordings to ensure high audio quality
  • Draft engaging descriptions for social media promotion
  • Manage production timelines and release schedules
  • Provide transcripts for each episode (translations are a plus)
 
Requirements
  • Proven track record in podcast production
  • Brief outline of a podcast concept based on the provided theme
  • Ability to propose engaging formats, topics, and potential guests
  • Proficiency in producing and editing online podcasts
  • Access to necessary tools and technology for quality podcast production
  • Fluency in English; experience as a host 
  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines (at least 6 episodes must be completed within 2025)
  • Ability to provide transcriptions (translations are an asset)
  • Description of your workflow, tools, and software used
  • Award Criteria:
  • Quality of submitted work samples and proposed concept
  • Relevance and scope of the previous podcast experience of the team specifically designated for the project (e.g., producers, hosts, editors), particularly with regard to comparable topics, formats, or target audiences
  • Level of knowledge on AI, art, culture, and/or the creative industries
  • Stated fee per episode and any additional costs (please indicate a scalable fee per episode)
  • Provision of translation and/or transcription services
Who Should Apply: Applications are invited from individuals or collectives who fit requirements and emerging creators who are preferably based in Ghana or Nigeria.
