Who Can Apply:
- Artists and interdisciplinary practitioners working across various mediums, including painting, sculpture, textile, photography and installation.
- Individuals committed to sharing their work and engaging with audiences in a meaningful way.
- Those based and working in Ghana with a strong artistic practice.
- The call is open to artists and interdisciplinary practitioners who have not had an exhibition before but have work that is ready to be exhibited.
What to Expect:
As a way of supporting artists and inter-disciplinary practitioners, the Goethe-Institut will offer
- A participation fee of 6,000 cedis per selected artist. This fee will go into supporting the set up of the exhibition including printing, or installation where necessary.
- A maximum of two selected participants will exhibit their work for a limited period between SEPTEMBER and December this year.
- Goethe-Institut will work closely with the artist to use the space available to curate a good exhibition.
- Opportunities for artist talks, artist spotlight on our social media and guided tours, allowing audiences to interact deeply with your work while the exhibition is running.
Application Requirements:
Applicants must submit the following materials:
- Artist Statement: A brief text detailing your artistic practice, themes, and influences.
- An overview of your artistic career, exhibitions, and relevant experiences.
- References: Published reviews, critiques, or other writings that engage with your art if any.
- Sample images or videos of artworks to be exhibited
- Links to websites or social media accounts: Online platforms showcasing your portfolio or creative projects.
