On the night of 24 August 1992, the eastern city of Rostock simmers with frustration and lost hope. More than 3000 stand by as a mob sets the Sonnenblumenhaus ablaze, home to over 120 Vietnamese migrant workers and their families. The film recounts the incident from the perspective of three very different characters, capturing the explosive collision of xenophobia, apathy, and fragile belonging in a newly united nation. Burhan Qurbani’s urgent drama lays bare the human cost of fear and silence.
