The Science Film Festival features films that communicate science and technology in an entertaining and comprehensible way. Its primary target audience is children aged 9–14 but also for young adults and beyond. The approach combines education and entertainment while demonstrating that communicating and learning about science and technology can be great fun.

The Science Film Festival returns to Indonesia for the 12th time in 2021. The theme of this year’s festival edition features “Better health through better understanding” and takes place online in 52 Indonesian cities:

This festival has grown considerably since its first edition in 2005, becoming the largest event of its kind worldwide. The event takes place internationally in over 20 countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa from 1 October to 20 December. Alternative digital formats are in preparation in the event of cancellation of large screenings in some participating countries. Even in these trying times, the Science Film Festival is committed to promoting access to quality science communication, education and cultural exchange!
