Current Open Calls
The Goethe-Institut Jordan in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy in Amman, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Embassy of Poland in Amman are excited to announce the open call for REPRUPOSE, an initiative for cultural practitioners, cultural initiatives, and art collectives in all fields in Jordan.
REPURPOSE aims to transform vacant urban spaces in central Amman into temporary cultural hubs, known as “Third Places”. This initiative focuses on supporting emerging female creatives under 35, particularly artists, cultural entrepreneurs, and start-up founders, by providing them with spaces for cultural expression and community engagement, to be activated and operated for a duration of 6 months. The project promotes intercultural collaboration, gender equality, and sustainable urban development, with mentorship from European experts in urban revitalistion. The project is funded by the EUNIC Cluster Fund. The European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) is the European network of organizations engaging in cultural relations from all EU member states.
To realise this vision, we are looking for:
- Cultural or artistic groups and actors, initiatives, or projects to match with two abandoned buildings in central Amman, which will then serve as temporary cultural spaces
- Building owners who are willing to offer their currently vacant spaces for such temporary cultural and artistic use
- A scout to help us identify suitable properties and help us connect the cultural initiatives with the building owners
Please note that the spaces will have a pop-up character and will not be fully renovated. While we will assist in making the abandoned places ready for temporary use (providing basic infrastructure like electricity and accessibility), full renovations will not be conducted.
