Application Guidelines
Applicant’s and project’s eligibility:
Individuals or collectives currently based in Lebanon whose practice falls within one or more of the following disciplines and fields, and:
a. Who either wishes to work individually on a project
b. or wishes to collaborate with an individual or collective based in Lebanon or abroad.
- Visual Arts (painting, sculpture, graphics, architecture, photography, media-art)
- Performance Arts (dance, theatre, performance, music)
- Artists’ moving image
- Critical and Creative Writing
- Artistic Research
- Professional development in the art fields
- For individual application: person or collective must be based in Lebanon**
- For joint applications: one of both entities must be based in Lebanon**
- Motivation and willingness to pursue an artistic practice individually or in a collaborative way
- Ability to demonstrate that they are committed to the project they are developing
- Already completed artistic work in the sought field (2-years experience)
- Willingness to report, document and present the project once ended and to provide written evidence of how the support fund was used.
- The proposal must have a clear outcome (whether practical or theoretical)
- The proposed project must be feasible within seven months of the deadline for submission
Individual applications:
one entity – could be a person, or a collective
Joint applications:
two entities – could be a person and a collective, two collectives or two individuals.
Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously benefited from Goethe-Institut-Libanon’s programmes or funding in the cultural field.
Benefits
The financial support ranges from 500.- to 5000.- USD.
Disbursement in one instalment and for a project that can span a maximum period of 7 months (May to November 2026).

The type of application, whether individual or joint, does not play a role in the amount of funding granted, rather the nature of the project and its content.
Application Requirements
Applications are to be completed and submitted with all required documents by 08 April 2026, at 23:59 (EET) by e-mail to the following address: Kultur-Beirut@goethe.de
How to apply:

In the case of a joint application with a person based abroad, the application form must be submitted by the person or entity based in Lebanon, and the required information and documents should be submitted for both parties.
Please send the following documents by mail:
- CV (for joint applications and collectives: please submit a CV for each person participating in the project)
- Portfolio or work references (e.g., links to recordings, videos and other online presentations of works): qualifications and previous activities/projects performed in the last 2 years as evidence of work in the field sought (for joint applications and collectives: please submit a document for each person participating in the project, and, if available, for the collective itself)
- Motivation Letter: including a brief description of the current work status against the backdrop of the present situation in Lebanon
- Budget and time schedule
- The documents should be in PDF format and must not exceed 10 MB/document. Documents are only accepted in English languages.
Please add an authorization letter (in English) assigning one person to represent the team in all legal matters (e.g. concluding the agreement with the Goethe-Institut Libanon) and to receive the fund on behalf of the team, which also states that the grant amount will be distributed among the different actors of the project. This statement needs to be signed by all applicants on a printed paper and attached as a scanned copy. Digital signatures will NOT be accepted.
Selection and Deliberation Process
Applications will be reviewed by a jury composed of art professionals and representatives of the organizing team. Projects will be evaluated according to their artistic quality, relevance to the call’s theme, feasibility, and the coherence of the artist’s practice.
The jury will conduct an initial review of all applications, followed by a collective deliberation to select the participating artists. Selected candidates will be informed by email by 16 April 2026. The jury’s decisions are final.
The Goethe-Institut reserves the right to suspend the grant award and require reimbursement upon realising fraud or infringement in any of the submitted documents.
