This conversation offers audiences an in-depth encounter with Christoph Peters, tracing his literary journey and the themes that shape his work. In dialogue with Savithri Rodrigo, Peters reflects on his path from visual art to writing, the influence of travel and cultural encounters, and the ways literature responds to moments of disruption and change.

The discussion also introduces his new novel Withdrawal (Entzug), focusing on how literary form can engage with experiences of addiction, crisis, and recovery—without simplification or embellishment. The conversation invites reflection on vulnerability, responsibility, and the possibility of renewal, while offering insight into Peters’ narrative approach and working process.

The session is designed for readers interested in contemporary German literature, cross-cultural perspectives, and the role of writing in making sense of personal and social experience.
