The bourgeois German-language cinema of the 1950s hardly produced an international star; Austrian-born Romy Schneider was one of the very few exceptions. With SISSI and other works she was more popular than she liked. Only the step abroad could free the actress from her "sweet" image. In France she started a new career in the sixties, her psychological problems remained. She rarely publicly expressed her struggles - unlike in 1981 during an interview with “Stern” reporter Michael Jürgs. Director Emily Atef staged this encounter with excellent actors and fictional elements.
