German Connects

The biennial Tag der Deutschen Sprache – German Language Day will this year be held along the pristine Namibian coast in Swakopmund at the Private School Swakopmund (PSS), where a series of festive activities will entertain and inform visitors of the German language, Germany and the country’s culture. The Goethe-Institut Namibia and the Embassy of Germany in Namibia hold this event under the slogan of “German Connects” to emphasise how the German language and country brings people together on various platforms. The event that kicks off at 09:00 and ends at 19:00 is also held to promote the German language and highlight the opportunities that proficiency in it can bring. All components of the programme are open to the public.

The PSS is one of 40 schools in Namibia that offer German as a Foreign Language (DaF) and is this year hosting the event.
