Reflekt Residency
Open Call for Artists, Curators, Art Practitioners
Reflekt Residency
Goethe-Institut Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines together with SAVVY Contemporary and TanzFaktur are looking for three-month residency applications in visual art and performing art.
As Germany’s international cultural institute, Goethe-Institut promotes cultural collaboration worldwide, encourages intercultural dialogue, and enables cultural involvement. Focusing on shared artistic production, reception and reflection, the Goethe-Institut Southeast Asia initiates and co-organizes this residency platform to connect, to exchange ideas, to collect impulses, to work in a new cultural context, and to draw on a variety of new inspirations.
REFLEKT residency programme encourages the artists/curators/art practitioners in residence to expand their research, develop a concept/prototype, build a project, or create an artwork together with the hosting organizations and local communities. Ideally, after completing the residency, the residents would continue their work and present them in their city of origin with the local Goethe-Institut as a host.
Following a successful inaugural year marked by fruitful networking and dynamic cross-cultural dialogue, REFLEKT returns in 2024, drawing from the inputs and experiences of previous participants as the programme continues to evolve. This year, we offer in total four slots for artists, curators, and art practitioners to work and engage with respective art scene and public in Germany for three months with the following preferred hosts:

SAVVY Contemporary welcomes proposals from practitioners who have significant experience in various art ecosystems as well as with practical knowledge on other necessary competencies in the fields of project management, education, community organizing, hospitality, communications, or public engagement.
Due to the volume and diversity of programs and commitments, SAVVY Contemporary will prioritise proposals that are aligned with its core values and current programming. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate individual projects.
