The Goethe-Institut Philippinen presents a curated selection of short films at this year’s International Silent Film Festival Manila, taking place on July 12, 7:00 PM at the Red Carpet Cinemas, EDSA Shangri-La Plaza. Admission is free.

​​​​​​​Wie sich das Kino rächt tells the story of a notorious film censor who has long frustrated filmmakers with his strict moral standards. In a bid to expose his hypocrisy, a group of directors devises a cinematic trap: they enlist a young actress to lure him into compromising behavior, all captured by a hidden camera.

The screening will be accompanied by a live score from ma.ma, a sound and performance duo composed of Joee Mejias and Alyana Cabral. Rooted in the concept of the “producer-procreatrix” or primitive maternity, ma.ma explores spirit and electricity through immersive visual and sonic experiences.
