Biography
Scott is finishing his 30th year of teaching middle school with 28 at Owatonna Middle School as a 7th & 8th grade social studies teacher- mostly of his own volition! When not on Zoom he can usually be found in the woods being walked by the raucous and rambunctious Rudy & Fritz the rescue pups. Scott was TOP’s Fellow of the Year way back in 2009, has won Minnesota history teacher of the year, Minnesota Teacher of the Year finalist, a Fulbrighter, Minnesota Educator of Excellence, Minnesota Council lifetime achievement award guy, and was the president of the Minnesota Council for the Social Studies…. But as he puts it, none of that really matters if you can’t engage kids!
