8. Creative Teaching Workshop for German Language Teachers

Goethe-Institut Boston

There is no such thing as crime novels and films to the German audience. The weekly “Tatort” (in English: crime scene) is a firm institution in the German TV schedule. Each Sunday evening, the crime films set in German cities from Kiel to Munich reach up to ten million German spectators.

So why not integrate crime films like the “Tatort” in to the German language learning classroom? “Who is the murderer?” - Everyone knows the common plot of a crime novel and is thrilled by finding the right answer to this question. Due to their clear structure and their intelligibility for people from all kinds of cultures, crime films are suited for language learning.

Light refreshments will be served .
