Warehouse XI

A two-and-a-half-day conference and sound festival to bring together musicians, sound creators, and scholars of music and sound studies to discuss the diversity of music and experimental sound.  Combining art and scholarship in a spirit of dialogue and controversy, the conference aims to dissolve boundaries between different arenas of sonic engagement to identify paths towards alternative, more inclusive futures.

Includes keynotes, panel discussions, music performances and sound experiences.

Featuring cutting-edge audio surround technology by “d&b soundscape”

Mouse on Mars’s new album Dimensional People (forthcoming via Thrill Jockey) to be premiered as a spatial installation in cooperation with d&b’s object-oriented mixing technology.

Further highlights include:

  • Performances by DJ Rekha (3/7, 7-10pm), Mouse on Mars (3/8, 7-10pm), Lychee (3/9. 7-10pm), Imanishi Kohsetsu (3/9, 7-10pm), and more
  • Panel discussion on spatial mixing, kinetic speakers and experimental sound with Jan St. Werner
  • Keynotes on dance, sound art, music, politics, technology and how they all relate.
