Winter's Daughter
On Christmas of all days, the 12-year-old Kattaka finds out that that her papa is not her biological father. Disillusioned, and angry about her parent’s long silence, she wants to look for Alexej, the Russian sailor who was her mother’s first love. So with her elderly neighbor and her best friend she sets out on the path to Poland. The journey in Lene’s rickety van leads them to Stettin, Danzig and Masuria: A road movie in which a young girl and an old woman come to terms with their pasts, transcend the divide between generations and find themselves again.
