Attend a free composting workshop, and learn how easy it is to reduce food waste and lower your carbon footprint!

Transforming organic material, such as kitchen scraps, into nutrient-rich soil can go a long way towards reducing greenhouse emissions and combating climate change. Contrary to popular beliefs, composting does not take up much space and is even suitable for compact urban apartments.

Join artist and environmentalist Karen McCoy as she presents two odorless methods that are not prone to leakage: a vermiculture system using a common five gallon bucket, and a cardboard box method popular in Japan.

This workshop is conducted as part of Karen McCoy’s contribution to the exhibition Unconventional: The Legacy of Joseph Beuys. All materials will be provided by the Goethe Pop Up and the artist. Space is available for only 12 participants. Participants should note on entry which form of these two composting methods they would like to take home with them after the workshop.
