PLOT:

Disaster in holiday paradise: the German tourist Nathalie witnesses a refugee-tragedy on the Canary Islands. A boat full of fleeing African people has stranded. Among the survivors, she spots a man with his little son. Nathalie wants to help, but a police officer sends her away; his work has deprived him of his mercy and has made him cynical. But the refugee Zola and little Mamadou establish contact with the German. She decides to help the two people in need – against the wishes of her husband. But the money she wants to use to help father and son to get to the mainland leads to a catastrophe that Nathalie was unable to foresee. COLOUR OF THE OCEAN is a cutting-edge film about Europe’s humanitarian and political problems in dealing with the flow of African immigrants.
