Bùi Lê Thảo Linh – „Jester“ (*2001)

Bui Le Thao Linh currently studies medical science and is mainly active as an amateur artist. She randomly saw the call for the workshop on the website and did not expect to be taken. For her, it is a great honor to work with so many experienced artists.
Her graphic novel is set in a dystopia and explores the various forces of the zodiac.
 

Trần Anh Dũng (*1998)

Trần Anh Dũng is working as an animator. In 2020 he graduated in graphic design. He has enjoyed reading graphic novels since he was a child, and it has always been his dream to publish a graphic novel.
His story is about an old, wise street barber and the changes that life brings.

Đặng Quang Dũng - "Mok" (*1992)

Đặng Quang Dũng first studied international business and then graphic design in Singapore. He started drawing comics for his classmates at the age of 7 and has already published more than 15 works. His comic strip "Diary of Meo Moc" was initially a personal project, but it quickly attracted the public's attention, from children to adults.
His graphic novel describes the story of a girl who runs away from home together with her stuffed animal that has come to life.

Đặng Nam Phương (*1995)

Đặng Nam Phương taught herself to draw. She has been self-employed since 2013 and published her first storybook series "gương thiếu nhi làm theo lời bác" with Kim Dong Publishing in 2015. Her graphic novel highlights the history of the "Dinh," a type of traditional community house that serves as a cultural meeting place for the people of North Vietnam.

Trần Thu Ngân (*1991)

Trần Thu Ngân graduated as a graphic designer in 2014. Professionally, she is responsible for design at the publishing house Nhã Nam. In this workshop, she draws a comic for the very first time. Her story is about the traditional handicrafts of Vietnam and their meaning in the present and the past. The traditional Vietnamese folk masks serve as a key element in this.

Dương Hương Ly (*1992)

Dương Hương Ly studied animation and specialized in film directing for her master's degree. She has been drawing comics since 2015 and works as an illustrator. In her graphic novel, the traditional role of the wife is addressed symbolically. Thereby she addresses the tension between appreciation and implicitness.

Pham Lam Tuong (*1999)

Pham Lam Tuong graduated as a graphic designer in 2021 and has been working as a freelancer ever since. She has been drawing comics since her childhood and was awarded a prize in the Webtoon Comic Contest in 2020. Her graphic novel is about a love story dealing with mental health issues.

Cao Hoàng Anh Thư (*1999)

Cao Hoàng Anh Thư studied graphic design and drew a comic based on the novel "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" as her graduation project. Since 2021, she has been working mainly on illustrations for children. In October, her work "Đoá Hoa Đồng Thoại" will be published on behalf of the Japan Foundation.
Her graphic novel is based on a Vietnamese folk song about a stork, which engages the reader in an interplay between reality and fantasy.

Nguyễn Thuỳ Trang – „Sang An“ (*1991)

Nguyễn Thuỳ Trang completed her nursing training in 2017 but is now working as a freelancer. Since the pandemic, she has started drawing comics.
Her latest publication, "Trust on You" is about a love story. In her graphic novel, she educates about the effects of air pollution.

Nguyễn An Khang (*1997)

Nguyễn An Khang completed his graphic novel studies in Ho Chi Minh City in 2018. He currently works at the Hanoi Fossil Museum, where he is responsible for illustrations and the designs of information panels. This work strongly influences his creativity, as his comics focus on natural science and archaeology. This is also reflected in his graphic novel, which is set in the time of the dinosaurs.

Nguyễn Thế Linh –„LinhRab“ (*1985)

Nguyễn Thế Linh graduated from the Hanoi Academy of Fine Arts in 2017 with a major in oil painting. He works as a freelancer mainly for children's and youth magazines. In 2020, his first edition of the three-part series "Dế Út" was published. His graphic novel tells a story about how a song can show the right path.

Nguyễn Thị Lệ (*1991)

Nguyễn Thị Lệ graduated in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in fashion design. After completing her degree, she drew cartoons for children for the YouTube channel of the media company Sconnect. Nguyễn Thị Lệ has been self-employed since 2017 and has been specializing in graphic novels for 2 years. Her graphic novel deals on the one hand with the Vietnamese folk belief "Dao Mau" and the hero worship associated with it, and on the other hand with the contemporary conflict of preserving traditions.
