The Goethe-Institut Ho Chi Minh City invites young audiences and families to experience the magic of cinema at this year’s Children’s Film Festival, running from June 1 to August 15, 2025. Under the theme “Today’s Little Heroes, Tomorrow’s Global Citizens”, the festival presents a selection of engaging and thought-provoking short films from around the world.

Among others, this year’s festival showcases the “Starke Geschichten für starke Kinder” (“Strong Stories for Strong Children”) series — short films that follow young protagonists from different countries as they navigate the joys and struggles of childhood. From facing challenges and displacement to standing up for their rights, each film offers a window into the diverse lives of children worldwide. These stories not only entertain but also nurture empathy, resilience, and global awareness in our youngest viewers.

Film screenings will take place across multiple venues in Ho Chi Minh City, including local libraries, children’s center, mobile libraries and cinema units, etc. Special children’s film workshops will be held at the General Science Library of Ho Chi Minh City, giving young participants the chance to become filmmakers themselves.

The festival is a collaborative effort, brought to life through the support of dedicated partners such as the PRIX JEUNESSE Foundation, S-Connect Creative Ecosystem, the General Science Library of Ho Chi Minh City, the THD Education Solution Co., Ltd. and the PASCH Initiative.
Join us for a festival that celebrates storytelling, creativity, and the power of young voices. Let’s raise a generation of world citizens — one film at a time.

(We will keep you posted on the festival venues on our website as well as on our Social Media Channels.)
