This aims at sharing experiences in community-based tourism development from national and international experts, consulting tourism management agencies, and local community representatives for a relevant direction on sustainable community-based tourism development in Tam My Tay, Nui Thanh, Quang Nam.
The seminar consists of two main discussion topics
1) Orientation for sustainable community-based tourism development and management in association with the protection of natural resources in Tam My Tay
2) Involvement of stakeholders in the decision-making process and development of the community-based tourism model in Tam My Tay.
The seminar provides an overview of the project, the potential of developing a sustainable community-based tourism model in Tam My Tay, and offers an open space for different stakeholders to share experiences and critical perspectives on this. Participating at the seminar are experts with international experiences: Dr. Stefen Ziegler from the World Wide Fund for Nature in Germany, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuoc from the World Wide Fund for Nature in Vietnam; Mr. Douglas Hainsworth from the Swiss Sustainable Tourism Program (SSTP) in Vietnam, Prof. TS. Nicole Häusler from the German University of Sustainable Development, Ms. Nguyen Lam Giang from the Center for Rural Economy Development (CRED), Dr. Chu Manh Trinh from Cu Lao Cham Conservation Area, representatives of Travellife, representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, HHDL Quang Nam, ... and especially, representatives of households in Tam My Tay commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam Province.
About the project:
Project "Sustainable Community-Based Tourism development in Tam My Tay commune" supported by the Goethe-Institut in Vietnam through the GreenViet is approved by Quang Nam Department of Planning and Investment at Decision No. 200/QD-SKHDT, dated July 29, 2022. The main objective of the project is to contribute to conservation of Gray-shanked douc populations, development of livelihoods and rational use of resources resources through the model of community-based tourism in Tam My Tay commune.
The project is implemented by the GreenViet in collaboration with Quang Nam Provincial Forest Protection Department, Quang Nam Tourism Association, CAB Hoian and the Goethe-Institut in Vietnam, supported by EU National Institutes for Culture EUNIC and the Goethe-Institut in Vietnam.
