The Goethe-Institut presents the Southeast Asia tour of acclaimed jazz musician Timo Vollbrecht and his band FLY MAGIC. After the opening event in Hanoi, the musicians and their refreshingly different style of music will travel further to HCMC, Phnom Penh and Bangkok. The distinct and warm sound of band leader Timo Vollbrecht’s saxophone is inspired by the music scenes of Berlin and New York – the cities between which he commutes. Every song creates a new universe for itself – jazz elements merge with post rock, minimalism, new music and contemporary song culture.

FLY MAGIC consists of Timo Vollbrecht (saxophone), his long-time musical companion Keisuke Matsuno (guitar), Sebastian Merk (drums) and Matthias Pichler (bass). The band has been playing shows all over the world, in New York’s most famous jazz club, and at festivals in Panama, Haiti, Australia and Europe.
