Qualität Goethe-Institut Deutsch Lehren Lernen® was developed by top researchers in accordance with current standards for continuing education programs. DLL is:

Skill-focused 

The goal of DLL is to  help you develop and improve the skills necessary for teaching, and to expand your specialized and subject-specific knowledge. 

Practical and hands-on 

DLL is based on your own experiences in the classroom. It offers numerous examples from real-world German lessons, including student interviews, excerpts from learning materials, lesson plans, and video clips. These materials have been chosen to inspire you in the planning, investigation, and reflection of your own teaching. Practical Exploration Projects (PEPs) are designed to give you a new perspective on your instruction.

It’s your choice: Every DLL unit is available both as a textbook as well as online on Goethe-Institut’s interactive learning platform. Video recordings from diverse classroom settings provide a deeper look into real-world situations and are a starting point for enriching conversations with other educators about your own practice

DLL is standardized in regards to format, assignments, and setting.

Throughout the development of DLL, Goethe-Institut turned to its own Scientific Advisory Committee and other experts in the field to ensure a solid foundation in empirical evidence and current research.

DLL has been put to the test in Germany and around the world. Feedback from participants in many different countries has been incorporated, and our didactic approach was developed using scientific research and evaluation.

Modular and accredited 

3 ECTS credits (1 ECTS credit = 30 hrs) are awarded for every unit completed.
