RCLA & Goethe-Institut & Encounters Industry Day

Workshop|RCLA, RoughCutLab Africa, in conjunction with the South African Guild of Editors (SAGE) and the Encounters South African International Documentary Film Festival has implemented a programme that ensures that there is equitable access to those post-production professionals historically disadvantaged by race, gender, or physical disability, to contribute to a diverse talent pipeline for emerging editors and to connect with post-production professionals across the African continent.

RCLA's relationship with the Goethe Institute of Johannesburg significantly increases the footprint of the lab on the African continent by further developing relationships and networks with filmmakers, film festivals and organisations involved in documentary filmmaking. This includes an in-person programme at the GI in Johannesburg on the 28th of June, hosting a full day workshop and networking events. In addition, a presentation of a film at Encounters Film Festival in-line with the expected audience and engagement at the Encounters Film Festival.
