He uses artificial intelligence to probe the fictions of Western individualism and the lasting impacts of imperialism. Having grown up in London after his family fled ethnic violence, he explores how images shape political memory and erasure.
His exhibition Safe Zone combines painting and television to explore how images shape political memory. Made in collaboration with Annika Kuhlman, his work uses a custom AI to endlessly re-edit American broadcasts from the moments before 9/11, and expressionistic AI-generated paintings imagining scenes from an undocumented massacre in Sri Lanka.
