Gerhard Gundermann was a colourful character: an excavator driver, a cult singer - and an informer of the Stasi in the former East Germany before he died tragically at the age of 43 in 1998.

Director Andreas Dresen dedicates himself to this contradictory personality in a sensitive biographical account. A film about life, with all its inconsistencies and flaws, about death and dying, but above all about good music!
