The third Deutscher Filmklub of this year is an entertaining bicycle road movie from 2014 by Christian Zübert: “Tour de Force” (Hin und Weg). The main character Hannes suffers from a terminal illness and wants his friends to accompany him on a bike trip to Belgium, where he plans to end his suffering. In a humorous but at the same time sensitive manner, Zübert addresses the controversial topic of euthanasia.

The film will be shown in German with English subtitles. Afterwards there will be a moderated discussion.

This year Canada is commemorating its 150th anniversary. To celebrate, the Goethe-Institut will run a special program, “Germany @ Canada 2017 – Partners From Immigration to Innovation,” showcasing the close relationship between Germany and Canada.
