Putting Rehearsals to the Test

A three part exhibition presented at the Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery, SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art and VOX, centre de l’image contemporaine.
 
In the Autumn of 2016, the Leonard & Bina Ellen Gallery, SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art and VOX, centre de l’image contemporaine will host a major event entitled Putting Rehearsals to the Test. The three organisers of the exhibition, Sabeth Buchmann, Ilse Lafer, Constanze Ruhm - respectively art theorist, curator and artist – will bring together over thirty international artists, including seventeen from Germany and Austria, who address the "rehearsal" as a medium, examining artworks in terms of their production and reception processes, as well as their functioning as a critical tool towards institutional power.
