At EUNIC Panel, a special event of this year's Toronto Comic Arts Festival, artists Paolo Bacilieri, Martina Schradi and Marcelino Truong talk about the influence of life experience on their work.

Paolo Bacilieri was born in Verona and lives in Milan. His latest graphic novel to be translated into English, Fun, is both a researched history and a playful literary crime story, that explores the strange power of crossword puzzle.

Martina Schradi lives in Nuremberg and is a psychologist, comic artist and author. With her comic collection “Oh, I see?!”, in which she depicts the life stories of LGBT*I, she tries to create awareness for their lives and the obstacles they often have to face.

Born the son of a Vietnamese diplomat in the Philippines, Marcelino Truong and his family moved to America, and then to Vietnam at the outset of the war. "Such a Lovely Little War", his first graphic novel translated into English for now is a graphic memoir about the early years of the Vietnam War, seen through the eyes of a young boy.
