On the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, the Goethe-Institut Montreal presents a film series of recent films entirely dedicated to the realities of women in Germany.
Six years after the #MeToo movement in the social networks and feuilletons of this world, in a time in which the reproductive rights of childbearing people are increasingly restricted worldwide, in which transpersons and their rights are trampled underfoot, it is worth taking a look at Germany: The films gathered here include sexual assault in film, life as a Black woman in Germany, and the story of two transwomen who fled to Germany from Syria and their attempt to balance religion, family, and self-determination.
In March 2023, we continue our successful HAUS-KINO series and are pleased to present one of these films (always in original version with French or English subtitles) every second Wednesday at our home in the Goethe-Institut (1626 boul. St-Laurent, Montréal, QC, H2X 2T1).
