Project Manager
As of January 1, 2026, the Goethe-Institut Belgrade is looking for a committed colleague to join the project “Beyond the cities – Towards a transnational network of artists' residences in the Western Balkans” (duration 01.01.2026 - 30.06.2028 / 30 months).
Employment level 50% (part time)
Monday through Friday
The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, active worldwide. We promote the knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation. In addition, it is our task to convey a comprehensive picture of Germany through information about its cultural, social, and political life.
The “Beyond the Cities” project aims to establish a regional network of artist residencies in the Western Balkans in order to support cultural activities in underdeveloped rural areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Serbia. It is operated by the Goethe-Institut Belgrade in cooperation with partner organizations in these countries and in Germany.
The position is based on a contract under local law. Taxes and social security contributions are paid locally. The applicant must have Serbian citizenship or a work permit for Serbia.

The project manager's responsibilities include:
- Supporting the project leader in project preparation, implementation, and evaluation
- Communication with partner organizations and target groups in the Western Balkans and Germany
- Scheduling and preparation of the project team’s meetings
- Travel and event organization (logistical/financial)
- Budget planning and financial project management (from contract award to invoicing)
- Budget, deadline, and target controlling
- Monitoring and evaluation of project progress
- Reporting (ongoing and final)
Your skills include:
- Experience in project management
- Organizational skills
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility
- Languages: English and Serbian, preferably also German
