For more than 20 years, Cyprus officially belongs to the European family as a member of the EU. In 2026, it will take over the EU Council Presidency for the second time and thus assume the important task of ensuring the continuity of the European Union's work. Our island may be geographically located between three different continents and under the cultural influence of many neighbouring countries, but its European identity and orientation remain indisputable.
