The Football World Cup 2018 will take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018. As a reigning football world champion, Germany is one of the favourites of this competition. It is thus a fun and celebratory time in Germany! Both football fans and those who are usually not so keen on the sport, gather in public places in order to watch the German national team together!

In Cyprus, we are also extremely excited about the World Cup and are looking forward to the German national team’s first game against Mexico. On Sunday, 17 June, together with the German Embassy Nicosia, we are inviting people to come to a public screening of the game at the Goethe-Institut, at 5.30 pm. Beer and sausages will be sold at the event.
