Hamburg in the 1990s: following a mental breakdown, Charly Schmidt lives in assisted accommodation in Hamburg. He has overcome his drug and alcohol habit when he meets old friends, who now earn a lot of money as music producers. Instead of going on his prescribed holiday, Charly takes a job with them. He drives them on a tour bus through Germany and coordinates the rave tour. Magical Mystery is an entertaining road movie reinforced by techno music, in which the goal is the journey that almost leads to self-discovery.
