Generation A = Algorithmus

The grand finale of the Couch Lesson series.

After discussing artificial intelligence and learning about its impact on our economies, societies, and lives all year, the Couch Lesson series will end with a one-of-a-kind interactive experiment. Stroll through a virtual space with over 30 intimate conversations about AI taking place simultaneously — with many of the questions and experts that stood out for us in 2020 and a uniquely European perspective on AI.

In 1:1 and small group conversations, more than 30 experts from Europe will invite you to personal conversations about artificial intelligence, no matter whether you are an expert yourself or new to the field of AI. Each conversation will start with a daunting question for you to explore – some of them big and at system-scale, some of them right at the center of your everyday life.

An innovative new collaboration platform puts you in the driver seat: for two hours, you can roam through a shared virtual space, stick your head in rooms and join conversations that matter to you.

Key questions we will tackle:

  • Will we fall in love with our AIs?
  • Can AI become our new best friend, and if so, how?
  • From sci-fi to science – how close are we actually to the terrifying robots we fear in films?
  • Is Big Data the cause for the demise of democracy?
  • The end of truth is near here: How can we counter AI deception?
  • How can AI limit economic inequality and discrimination in society?
  • How do you need to direct an AI program to learn as much as possible about someone?
  • How much personal data would you donate to the public to improve AI for COVID-19?
  • Should you let an AI determine your complete eating schedule?
  • Can art make AI ethical?
  • How do we mitigate bias in AI art?
  • How may Good AI be achieved?
  • What can artificial life teach us that natural life can't?
  • Can code be creative?
  • Innovation vs. regulation - what should be Europe’s AI strategy?
  • ... and many more.
