Inge (Ursula Werner) is in her mid-60s and earns extra money as a tailor. She has been happily married for 30 years to her husband Werner (Horst Rehberg). But then she meets 76-year-old Karl (Horst Westphal) and ends up sleeping with him. From that moment on, Inge's life changes profoundly. While her daughter Petra (Steffi Kühnert) fears the collapse of the family should Werner find out about his wife's affair, Inge is torn between the two men...
