Two years after zombies have overrun the earth, the German towns of Weimar and Jena are the last remains of human civilization. Two young women take a journey through post-apocalyptic Thuringia. ENDZEIT - EVER AFTER is a zombie film written, directed, shot and produced by women.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Olivia Vieweg, Carolina Hellsgård's zombie film ENDZEIT – EVER AFTER tells the story of two young women's fight for survival during a zombie apocalypse. After a pandemic has turned most of humanity into bloodthirsty zombies, the last surviving humans have barricaded themselves in the Thuringian cities of Weimar and Jena. When two young women embark on a supply train outside these safe city borders and eventually become stranded in the no-man's land of East Germany, a journey begins that is as dangerous as it is surprising.

ENDZEIT – EVER AFTER plays with the expectations of the zombie horror genre and counters them with a far more exciting variation of the genre. From the female perspective with which the film team, consisting exclusively of women, looks at the genre, the zombie apocalypse becomes the starting point for existential questions and the confrontation with current ecological discourses. Nevertheless, the zombie hordes are not missing, of course, which are impressively staged against the vast Thuringian landscape.
