Sardam Festival
Installation|German participation in Cyprus' interdisciplinary literature festival
The Goethe-Institut Cyprus supports the participation of Russian-German media artist Katia Sophia Ditzler at the 12th Sardam Festival (international interdisciplinary literature festival) which will take place on 26-28 September 2024 in Limassol.
SARDAM, meaning "verbal slip" in Greek, is an annual, out of the box, interdisciplinary literature festival based in Cyprus, founded in 2013.
The festival presents the work of writers, writers-performers and other artists from Cyprus and abroad, through hybrid and interdisciplinary acts/collaborations (e.g. text and sound/music, slam poetry, live reading and contemporary dance, videopoetry, interactive literary installations, sound poetry, visual poetry, site-specific readings/acts, literature and A.I. / VR, and so on).
Besides presenting evenings full of alternative literary readings, screenings and interdisciplinary performances, the festival also presents creative writing and performance workshops, writer's/artist's residencies, as well as parallel events.
This year, special emphasis is given, among other things, on the combination of literature/words with sound and music.
As part of this year’s SARDAM festival programme, the VR & Video installation “Media Art Arcade” by Katia Sophia Ditzler will be presented at the Old Vinegar Factory (Genethliou Mitella 34, 3036, Limassol) on Friday, 27 September 2024 at 5:30pm - 7:30pm. The installation can be visited anytime during the festival. Furthermore, Katia Sophia Ditzler will present "Carbon Group//Songs of Audacity" within the framework a group event with other participants from Cyprus and abroad that will take place on Saturday, 28 September 2024 at 8p.m. at Polychoros Synergeio (91A Eleftherias Street, Limassol).
