The Goethe-InstitutCyprus invites you to the third edition of GoetheKino, titled Questions of her Own. This film series opens space for questions and reflection on the representation and visibility of women in the arts throughout history. Do we know the names of women artists? How credible is our art history?

The series starts on 18 March 2026 with Susanne Radelhof’s Lost Women Art. This documentary traces the stories of women artists written out of art history. The series continues on 29 April 2026 with the film Lotte am Bauhaus by Gregor Schnitzler, where we follow Lotte, a student at the Bauhaus, inspired by Alma Siedhoff-Buscher. Questions of her Own concludes on 27 May 2026 with Shelly Silver’s Girls / Museum documentary, where she turns the museum into a site of inquiry, letting young girls question what and who gets to be seen.

Through the film selection we hope to open a discussion about women in the arts, suppression and omission, and look beyond dominant narratives. After each screening, there will be space for discussion, exchange and shared reflection together with local artists and art theorists.

GoetheKino: Questions of her Own is taking place with the support of the Visual Artists and Art Theorists Association -phytorio.
