The Goethe-Institut Cyprus presents its upcoming open-air film series, titled Sommerkino: Between Waves. This year’s film series is dedicated to water in many forms: as a physical force, a border, a refuge, a threat, a memory. The programme invites audiences to follow these different cinematic streams, to feel how water can shape lives, and to reflect on the fluidity of identity, belonging, and change. Between Waves continues with Skin Deep by Alex Schaad.

Skin Deep tells the story of a young couple — played by Mala Emde and Jonas Dassler — who travel to a remote, peculiar island hoping to solve their problems, a place where you can quite literally become another person. A fascinating thought experiment about the connection between body and soul.
