Breakfast@Goethe
Breakfast@Goethe
Breakfast@Goethe is a series of morning gatherings where cultural professionals from Germany meet artists, researchers, and experts based in Finland. Together, they exchange ideas on current topics while sharing a vegan breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere.
We regularly collaborate with local partners to invite speakers and specialists. Over time, we’ve seen how bringing together people who work on similar themes—or who simply share a curiosity for one another’s practices—creates a fertile ground for lively, meaningful conversations. The informal setting encourages everyone to reflect collectively, contribute to the discussion, and continue the exchange even after the breakfast ends.
The events are held in English and are free of charge. Discussions are not recorded.
Guest speakers
Topics in the Breakfast@Goethe events have been cross-border and interdisciplinary, such as playwriting in Germany and Finland, equality in the field of music, intersectionality and inclusion in multilingualism, musical touring during pandemic, sustainable international co-operation in performing arts, participation, empowerment, empathy and inclusion in dance, international co-operations and funding structures in dance centres, colonial archives and Indigenous knowledge, performance and contemporary music.
