The Fatherland Files

Volker Kutscher

Gereon Rath's fourth case takes the Inspector to East Prussia in 1932, to the small Masurian town of Treuburg. A liquor dealer is found dead in the freight elevator of the Berlin pleasure temple Haus Vaterland; the cause of death by drowning is particularly mysterious. Two other men from Treuburg die in a similar manner. While Gereon Rath investigates in the surroundings of the Mathée liquor factory, a coup d'état is being staged against the government in Berlin.
