Photographer, camera woman, film director and much more - Elfi Mikesch has assumed many different roles throughout her long career and gifted us with a truly unique oeuvre that has strongly influenced feminist and queer cinema.  Discover a selection of her films presented together with Club des Femmes.

  • In-house cinema and online

    Goethe-Kino in London

    Our monthly film series, Goethe Cinema, showcases current German cinema, award-winning TV productions and timeless film classics, carefully selected and curated by our film expert Maren Hobein. Unless otherwise stated, all films are shown with English subtitles. The screenings take place on the last Wednesday of each month at the Goethe-Institut London.

    German Cinema in Glasgow

    Our regular film screening is THE date to mark in your diary for watching popular contemporary German cinema, outstanding TV productions, and film classics! Films are shown in German with English subtitles (on our big screen at the Goethe-Institut Glasgow) and admission is free.

Our libraries offer more than books: film classics, series and documentaries are ready for you to take home. Just drop in, pick a DVD and start your next film night. And for anyone on the go or without their own player, our London library even lends out a portable DVD player – perfect for turning any journey, holiday or quiet afternoon into a little cinema moment.
