The two-parter "Redemption Road" tells the story of the Kornitzer family during the German Reich and describes at the same time the founding years of a republic in which victims, perpetrators and fellow travelers have to deal with the painful search for justice and reparation. The film is based on a novel by Ursula Krechel based on a real original.
