Wellington, Old St Paul's

Rating: M - Violence

This Halloween, dress in your finest Gothic Horror costume and travel by mist to Old St Paul's for the film event of the year.

Showing on the big screen at one of Wellington's most iconic heritage venues, and in association with Old St Paul's, F.W. Murnau's 1922 classic Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horrors will play with sound.

This epic German Expressionist horror film stars Max Schreck as Count Orlok, a vampire with an interest in both a new residence and the wife (Greta Schröder) of his estate agent (Gustav von Wangenheim).

In the glorious shadows of this most famous of Gothic Revival buildings, completed in 1866, browse the Unity Books pop-up shop of suitably spellbinding novels, and sup on a cocktail from the bar before this masterpiece of malevolence transports you back in time to the creepiest castle in all of the Carpathian Mountains.

Will you eclipse all and win the prize for best ensemble? Crones, orphans, harpies, ghouls, tormented artists and mysterious strangers, deceived daughters and desperate debtors, lords and lunatics are most welcome.

Intermission. DJ Tomb*. Wurst. Doors open 6:30 p.m. Tickets on sale from Eventfinda, October 3.

Warnung, this evening should not be missed.
